News: Breast Cancer Alert

If you are wondering what the two words that put serious fear into every woman in the world are, you may come up with BREAST CANCER. Here are some startling statistics.

According to the National Cancer Institute, in 2008 an estimated 182,460 women were diagnosed with and 40,480 women died of breast cancer. I am dedicated to provide education to any woman interested to learn prevention, rather than waiting till the lump appears in the breast or the lump is detected by palpation or during routine mammogram. By that time the cancer may present itself with a challenging scenario.

So there is something I want to share with you.

Some preventive measures offered:

1. Keep close to a plant based nutrition which will support a healthier hormonal function.

2. Monitor your stress .If unmanaged, see a biofeedback therapist.

3. Abstain from exposure to petrochemicals (many personal care products contain synthetic chemicals) which will mimic xenoestrogens. These fake estrogens cause disruption of hormonal levels. There is a lot of information regarding the plastic appearing in the body from plastic bottles or plastic cookware.

4. Stop the use of sugars, all refined foods, soda’s which may disrupt your immune system, liver and thyroid function. You need a healthy liver to act as a super detox system to do its best job to protect you .Liver also plays a major role in healthy thyroid. You need a healthy thyroid to keep away from cancer.

5. Minimize your cell phone use or EMF exposure.

Most breast cancer is determined by how estrogen is metabolized in the body and whether it is balanced by adequate levels of progesterone. If in fact you had your blood test and it shows abnormal, you may consider a product called Indole3 Carbinol by Nature Sunshine company. It helps block the fake estrogen build up.

Again plant based nutrition is the best way to balance your estrogen and progesterone.

By plant based nutrition, I mean lots of greens, vegies (high in fiber and water contents), specially cruciferous veggies, fruits and modest amount of nuts and moderate amount of seeds.

Consume as many sprouted seeds as possible, along with your greens.

Get in the habit of using proboscis or fermented veggies such as sauerkraut. Use flax.

The good news is that you can encourage your body to make more good estrogen while getting rid of the bad stuff simply by changing your nutrition and lifestyle, while maintaining healthy gut flora and modifying your diet to include more antioxidant-rich and omega-3 foods such as seeds and high quality crabs. The insulin resistance and inflammation caused by refined carbohydrates significantly increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and breast cancer.

If you have an underactive thyroid or thyroid antibodies (autoimmune thyroiditis), your body may not be making enough NK (natural killer) cells. These are the immune cells that search out cancer cells and destroy them. That's why it's vitally important to have your thyroid checked regularly. It is in our power to dramatically reduce our risk of breast cancer by balancing your hormones and following a balanced plant based diet.
